Fund manager Custodian Land is countering Australia’s critical housing shortage by developing affordable product in capital cities. The funds manager is on track to deliver more than 600 allotments over the next three years priced at or below the median capital city house price.
Custodian Land CEO John Fitzgerald said the new housing would be constructed primarily for the first or second home buyer markets. “We already have builders lining up to buy the product,” Mr Fitzgerald said.
The land development also provided an alternative property investment vehicle, as investors partner with the company in the land development. “For investors, Custodian Land provides a means to acquire high-growth property at a fraction of the cost of a traditional house-and-land product,” Mr Fitzgerald said.
Custodian Land developments are located in some of Australia’s most sought-after, rapidly expanding inner-urban growth corridors. The third syndicate for Custodian Land was released last week, which relates to a 246-allotment subdivision in Melbourne’s Sunbury.
